Patiala Law University students protest against suspension of six

[India], Mar 19 (ANI): Students at the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law in Punjab's Patiala on Tuesday continued to protest against the suspension of six students.

According to the college authorities, the students were suspended for their alleged misconduct in the hostel.

While alleging that the management has been abusive, a student said, "We have been conducting peaceful protest here and we need answers to why these six students were suspended.

The college authorities didn't give us a reply. Moreover, they are very abusive and we will not tolerate it."

Meanwhile, another student alleged that the authorities have called the police to the campus where students are peacefully protesting. "A question should be raised against the authorities that how a peaceful discussion will take place when you show students the weapons and deployed police force."

"The students were suspended due to their misconduct in the hostel. We have suspended those six students as a precautionary measure considering the recommendations made by the committee constituted to inquire the matter," dean of the college said.

The students are protesting against the suspension of the students and they demand to revoke the order issued by the management, he added. (ANI)
