He said Rahul was a native of Sagarpar village under Kalyan Bigha police station area in Nalanda while Golu belonged to Sonaru in Nalanda.

“Both were in the age group of 18 to 20 years. They were going toward Bihta-Sarmera road from Sonaru while the SUV was coming from Beldarichak side. The impact of the collision was such that both youths died on the spot,” he said.

SHO Kumar said even the SUV lost control and fell into a roadside ditch resulting in serious injury to three persons, including a 10-year-old boy. He said the two other injured persons were rushed to NMCH for treatment.

“It was yet not clear that who was actually riding the bike as both died on the spot. Investigation were going on to know if the injured man was driving the SUV,” he said.

The SHO said there was sharp curve near the spot and neither those riding the bike nor travelling in the SUV could see the vehicles coming from either side. “The youths were not wearing helmets,” he said, adding the bodies were handed over to the family members after autopsy at NMCH.
