Priyanka was detained in Mirzapur while on her way to Sonbhadra

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday detained by the police in Uttar Pradesh and stopped from proceeding to Sonabhadra to meet the kin of theose killed in firing over a lamd dispute on July 17

The administration has imposed restrictive orders for assembly under section 144 of the Indian Penal code, in Sonbhadra.

Priyanka was earlier seen participating in a dharna in Mirzapur along woth other Congress leaders against the Uttar Pradesh Govt.
According to the police, 10 people were killed in the firing that took place two days ago in connection with a land dispute between two communities. On the day of the incident priyanka had criticised the state govt over the law and ordr situation.

The senior Congress leaders also vritised the Uttat pradesh Government over the incident and described the action as "crushing of democracy".
