Protests in Hajipur continue

Hyderabad: Hajipur village victims continued their protest for the second day on Friday demanding action against serial rape-cum-murder incidents in their village.

Rachakonda police in a press statement said the SIT chief has been asked to speed up the probe and that the accused, Marri Srinivas Reddy, would be subjected to a medical examination.

“Collection of evidence will be completed soon,” a police officer said. ACP, Bhongir, is the investigating officer in the case. The matter would be taken up with district judge, Nalgonda, for conducting a trial in a fast track court, the police said . tnn
