Punjab earns Rs 40 crore from e-auction of plots

File photoCHANDIGARH: The Punjab industries and commerce department has realised Rs 40 crore as sales revenue through e-auction of industrial and commercial plots developed by the Punjab Small Industries and Exports Corporation (PSIEC) during the ongoing Covid curfew.

Industries and commerce minister Sunder Sham Arora said the PSIEC had launched the e-auction of industrial plots and commercial sites located in its industrial focal points in Abohar, Amritsar, Batala, Bathinda, Chanalon (Kurali), Goindwal Sahib, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Malout, Mandi Gobindgarh, Mohali, Muktsar, Naya Nangal, Nawanshahr, Nabha, Pathankot, Tanda, and Raikot.


PSIEC is the nodal agency of the state government for development of industrial estates.

Additional chief secretary for industries Vini Mahajan said there was an overwhelming response to the auction, especially for commercial properties of PSIEC located in Mohali, Ludhiana and Amritsar.
