Railway Electrification's Bhubaneswar office to be shifted to Bengaluru

BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar office of the Central Organisation for Railway Electrification (CORE), which works for electrification of railway tracks over the Indian Railways , will be shifted to Bengaluru by March 31 as a re-organisation work of the CORE.

A letter issued on Wednesday signed by executive director of Railway Electrification Bhupender Singh Bodh said member traction of Railway Board and chairman of the board has approved to transfer of railway electrification’s (RE) Bhubaneswar office (RE/BBS) to Bengaluru.



The letter said the operating post of chief project director (CPD) of Bhubaneswar office (CPD/RE/BBS) will be changed to CPD, railway electrification, Bengaluru (CPD/RE/SBC) by allocating new works. “RE/BBS projects will be closed after March 31 this year and manpower will be transferred to other projects/repatriated,” said the letter.

Official sources said the CPD Bhubaneswar office has four projects in Odisha of around 350 crore. The workload of RE’s Bhubaneswar office will be given to RE’s Danapur office, said the sources.

This office was working for electrification of new rail line projects. It has successfully completed the electrification work in some routes including Jakhapura-Daitari route. This office had received award for successfully completing the electrification work in 2017-18.

CORE CPD (Bhubaneswar office) RA Choudhary said he will follow whatever the order has come. “We have the information about shifting of the Bhubaneswar office to Bengaluru. I cannot comment on the order,” he added.
