Nalini, convicted of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, tried to commit suicide in jail. Nalini is lodged in Vellore jail where she allegedly attempted suicide. Nalini's lawyer Pugalenti gave information about this.

Nalini Sriharan, who is serving life imprisonment for the murder of former Prime Minister of the country, Rajiv Gandhi, on Monday allegedly threatened to kill herself along with one of her co-prisoners.

According to the news, let me tell you that Nalini and another convict have been kept in the special cell of women in Vellore. A convict serving life imprisonment complained to the jailer about this. Nalini, who has been in jail for more than two decades, allegedly threatened to end her life after being questioned in a cell by a jailer.

Besides Nalini, the others convicted in the case include her husband Murugan, Suthinathira Raja alias Santhan, AG Perarivalan, Robert Pius, Jayakumar and Ravichandran. Four of the convicts - Sriharan, Santhan, Robert Pius and Jayakumar are Sri Lankan citizens. The lawyer said that Nalini had never made such an attempt before, so efforts are being made to know the real reason for this.
