Random Covid-19 tests in Panchkula

PANCHKULA: The administration is forming special teams to take random Covid-19 samples at high-risk zones, like slums and colonies besides villages.


The department will also take random samples of morning walkers in various parks of the city.

Anand Mohan Sharan, principal secretary, social justice and empowerment department, Haryana, in a meeting with administrative officials, asked them to increase screening and medical check-up of people living in highly-populated areas.



He asked them to form multiple teams and conduct random sampling in Kalka, Pinjore, Rajiv Colony, Indira Colony and Ashiana complexes.

He also asked officials to focus on screening and medical checkup of people working at various industries, mandis and shops throughout the district. Those who are coming to the city from outside and those in contact with people must be called for testing.

Sharan said, “I have asked the DC to form a policy in both urban and rural areas of the district, which will help in covering the entire district and the district will be made coronavirus-free.”
