'Rathnam' box office collection day 7: Vishal's film falls short to reach Rs 15 crore to end the first week

' Rathnam ' featuring Vishal in the lead role was released in theaters on April 26, and the film was released in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. The third union of the victorious duo Vishal and director Hari increased expectations for the film, while fans expected the duo to strike a hattrick. But the duo failed to continue their winning streak as 'Rathnam' has been receiving mixed reviews right from the FDFS.

According to the trade report from Cinetrak, 'Rathnam' grossed around Rs 1 crore on day 7, and it took the overall box office collection to around Rs 14.5 crore. In Tamil Nadu, 'Rathnam' reportedly grossed around Rs 8 crore, and it's a below-average collection for the Vishal starrer in the home state.

'Rathnam' has now successfully entered the second week, and the film has lost almost half of its screens due to ' Aranmanai 4 ' and other new Tamil releases. The action entertainer, which saw a decline in box office numbers in the last few days, is expected to have a climb as it heads into the second weekend. The box office collection of 'Rathnam' for the next few days will decide the verdict for the Vishal starrer.

'Rathnam' is about a furious youngster's fight to save his love interest, and the film has Vishal and Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the lead roles. Director Hari has made the film engaging through his fast-paced screenplay, but he failed to develop a strong subject for his third film with Vishal.
