Repeated Extinguishing of the Diya is a Sign of Vastu Dosh; Know the Right Direction to Light It

In Sanatan Dharma, lighting the diya or lamp during puja is central to worship. Devotees light the diya in front of deities' idols both in the morning and evening in their home temples during prayers.

However, if the diya repeatedly extinguishes during puja, what does it signify? Is it auspicious or inauspicious?

According to astrology, if the diya frequently extinguishes during puja, it could indicate the presence of Vastu Dosh in the house, signifying inauspiciousness.

To address this Vastu Dosh, it's crucial to build the home temple in the correct direction within the house. Placing the diya in the right direction during puja can help eliminate Vastu defects from the house.

If the diya burns brightly before, during, and after the puja, it's a positive sign for the house and its occupants. They receive the fruits of their puja, and blessings are showered upon them abundantly.

Vaastu Principles for Building a Home Temple
Hence, whenever building a new house, it's advisable to visit ancient historical forts and palaces or study them to understand where to place the home temple. These structures are believed to be built based on Vastu principles.

It's said that forts built according to Vaastu principles bear an auspicious sign on their main gates. Examples include the Jodhpur Gharana, Jaipur Gharana, and Scindia Gharana. It's also believed that kings or queens whose forts and palaces were not built according to Vaastu principles have become extinct today.

Relief from Vaastu Defects
According to astrology, when building a house after studying these ancient forts and palaces, there's a good chance of aligning the house with Vastu principles. This ensures that homes are blessed and protected from evil and negative energies.

According to Vastu Shastra, the temple should always be in the northeast corner of the house. The kitchen should be placed in the southeast corner. Deities in the temple should face east, and the lamp should be lit in this direction. This generates auspicious waves, purifies the house, eliminates Vaastu defects, and aligns it with the blessings of the deities.
