Rescue forces airlift two pregnant women from Uttarkashi

UTTARKASHI: Two pregnant women stranded in disaster-affected Uttarkashi villages were airlifted and sent to Doon hospital by rescue forces on Friday.

Meanwhile, the administration is preparing to evacuate 13 other pregnant women who are stuck in different villages of disaster affected Mori block due to lack of road connectivity.

Dr DP Joshi, Uttarkashi’s Chief Medical Officer told TOI, “We have identified 16 pregnant women in disaster-affected villages and are evacuating them on priority basis. Till now we have rescued three women and the remaining will be evacuated at the earliest possible.”
