Riled over bad roads, BJP MLA threatens to hold protest against Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar

BHOPAL: The BJP MLA from Sheopur threatened to hold a protest against the party MP from Morena and union minister Narendra Singh Tomar over the issue of a bad patch of road in Vijaypur tehsil of the district. The MLA issued the threat on Saturday when tyre of Tomar’s vehicle got punctured while he was travelling on the same patch of the road.

The road patch — about 50km long from Vijaypur towards Sheopur — is full of potholes.

Later in a rally, the MLA said that Tomar will face backlash if the road wouldn’t get repaired.

After getting elected from Morena-Sheopur Lok Sabha seat, it was the first visit of Tomar to Sheopur. He had travelled from Morena to Sheopur by road. Tomar spent about 15 minutes on th e road before the punctured wheel of the SUV he was travelling in was replaced.

Few minutes later in a rally , Sitaram asked the minister to get the road repaired. Referring to the bad condition of the road, the MLA said, “ this has happened because of Congress’ corruption. Now even the children of the area criticisesme. People have great hopes from me.”

He also said, “ Now that you yourself have experienced the road, you better make an announcement of road repair. If this is not done, I will start a protest against you.”

Tomar also held Congress responsible for the bad patch of the road. He said that this patch of the road comes under national highways and he had already spoke to the union minister Nitin Gadkari.

Tomar announced that the repair work would start within a week.

Before Sitaram, Vijaypur constituency was represented by Congress MLA Ramniwas Rawat. He had alleged that the then BJP government never sanctioned any work on the road, just because he happened to be an MLA from the Congress.

Now the situation has changed. There is a BJP MLA and Congress government and the road continues to be in shambles.
