Saharanpur: 68-year-old woman murdered by miscreants

Saharanpur: A murder case has come to light from Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. On Monday night, the miscreants who entered the house with the intention of robing, killed the old mother of the lawyer when she protested. The head of the old woman was hit with heavy luggage. Police along with forensic experts and dog squads searched the spot and could not find any clue about the miscreants.

A report has been filed against the unidentified miscreants on behalf of the lawyer in connection with the incident. While the cash or jewelry from the house was not robbed by crooks, the woman's mobile and purse were thrown into the colony's plot behind the house. The family of tax lawyer Devendra Pundir lives in Shastri Vihar colony on Chilkana Road in Sarasawa police station area.

Devendra Pundir said he had gone to Haridwar by bike to take Ganga water on Monday evening. At home were his mother Kamala Devi (68 years) wife Rajpal Singh (Retiree ARC employee) and wife Meenakshi and their two young children. Devendra Pundir said that when he was returning from Haridwar at around 2 p.m., his wife Meenakshi phoned and told her that three miscreants had entered the house.

He then phoned the neighbors and told them about it. When the neighbors arrived, his wife opened the gate and went to the mother's room and saw that she was lying on the ground in a critical condition.

He had deep bruises on his head. Police rushed to the spot and got the seriously injured Kamala Devi admitted to CHC Sarsawa. From there, he was referred to the district hospital. Kamala Devi died on parandu road. After a post-mortem, the police handed over the body of the old woman to the family members.
