Self-belief helps city girl Aishwaryam secure 10th rank

Lucknow: Aishwaryam Prajapati , 25, was about to resume her UPSC preparations when her phone beeped on Tuesday.

It was a notification alerting her about UPSC’s Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 results.

“There was thud in my heart, but I was hopeful of securing a place. As I scrolled down the list, and saw my name in the top 10, I ran to my mother to break this heart-warming news,” said Aishwaryam, an alumnus of Rani Laxmi Bai Memorial School, and National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand, who bagged AIR 10 in her second attempt.

Post her engineering, she worked one year at Larsen and Toubro as a trainee engineer at Visakhapatnam.

A native of Lucknow, Aishwaryam couldn’t hide her happiness. With media and relatives swarming her house, it seemed like a festival.

“We are overwhelmed. It was our dream to see our daughter as an IAS officer. We will celebrate this special day with our near and dear ones,” said her father Ram Komal Prasad, a marketing management faculty at the Institute of Co-operative and Corporate Management, Research and Training (ICCMRT).

Her home-maker mother Urmila Prajapati said, “She was always good at academics.” TNN
