Showers lash city, more on cards tomorrow onwards

Chandigarh: Showers lashed some parts of the Tricity during the early hours of Tuesday, with the India Meteorological Department ( IMD ) predicting a fresh western disturbance activity over the region in the coming two days.

Officials said that Thursday onwards, rain is likely to occur and continue for two days. On the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, thunder and lightning woke up residents around 2.45am, which was followed by heavy rainfall in some parts of the Tricity.

During the day, sun shone bright and remained in the sky till the evening hours when clouds took over. The IMD recorded trace rainfall on Tuesday. Its officials said that the maximum temperature in the city on Tuesday was 34.7 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded as 21 degrees Celsius. While sharing the forecast, the IMD officials informed that due to a fresh western disturbance about to affect this region on Thursday, partly cloudy sky with likely thundery development/light rainfall will be there for two days. There will be an overcast sky on Wednesday as well, and weather will become clear after Saturday.
