Smuggled snails seized in Odisha; 6 detained

Balasore: Illegal trafficking of snails goes unabated as Odisha police today seized a huge number of snails from two Kolkata-bound buses near Shergarh toll gate on NH-16 in Balasore district.

The Khantapada police seized hundreds of sacks filled with snails, which were reportedly being smuggled from Dhamra to Kolkata.

Six persons have been detained in connection with illegal transport of snails.

According to reports, the snails were being smuggled to Kolkata in two buses bearing the registration numbers OD-01X-1575 and OR-01 S-8771.
