Solan building collapse: Names of 13 Army personnel who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident

Solan (Himachal Pradesh): The names of 13 Army personnel, who died in the building collapse in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district on Sunday, have been revealed, two days after the incident. A total of 14 people have died, including a civilian, in the building collapse at Kumarhatti.

Another 28 people were injured as the building gave way due to heavy rain in the area.

Out of these 28 people, as per Solan Deputy Commissioner KC Chaman, 17 are Army jawans and 11 are civilians.

Bodies of seven jawans were dug out from the debris on Tuesday, as rescue personnel raced to find any survivors.

The Army personnel who lost their lives in the Solan building collapse include Sub Clk SD Balwinder, Sub Clk SD Y Kumar, Nb Sub Clk SD V Kumar, Sub R Bahadur, Sub Basumatary, Nb Sub R Singha, Sub AK Singha, Sub Henkhomang, Nb Sub M Nobin Singh, Sub K Chorei, Sub S Sharma, SubVaipheil and Sub Maj PC Bhuyan.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who visited the incident site on Monday, described the building collapse as a very "unfortunate" incident. The CM has directed the authorities to probe the building collapse.

DC Chaman told reporters that interim monetary relief has been provided to the seriously injured, the kin of the victims and minors.
