SP braces for Hamirpur bypoll

LUCKNOW: The Samajwadi Party on Wednesday announced Manoj Kumar Prajapati as its candidate for Hamirpur assembly bypoll.


Prajapati had contested from the same constituency in 2017 assembly elections but lost to Ashok Chandel of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Manoj Prajapati will be contesting against BSP's Naushad Ali.

"Hamipur assembly constituency has around 65-70% backward class voters but my party wants participation of all sections of the society. I will reach out to voters of every section of the society," Prajapati said.
