Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in match number 8 of Indian Premier League 2024 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad on March 27, 2024. In the ongoing tournament, both teams have lost their first match of IPL 2024 and so would like to get to winning ways.

The Sunrisers will be playing their first home match of IPL 2024 and they would love to open their account in front of their home crowd.

The Pat Cummins-led SRH began their 2024 campaign with disappointment as they lost against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a very narrow margin of four runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. But they are ready to make a comeback in their first home match, against the Mumbai Indians.

Speaking about the first game of the Sunrisers, Heinrich Klaasen played an unbelievable knock of 63(29) taking his team close to victory but unfortunately not over the finish line. Nevertheless, he is in magnificent form since last two years and would like to carry through the tournament. Mayank Agarwal 32(21) and Abhishek Sharma 32(19) stitched a superb opening patnership of 60 in just 33 balls. Their lack of opening contributions were one of the main problems in IPL 2023. Along with these, T Natarajan also made an amazing comeback after injury, bowling a fantastic spell (4-0-32-3) and was top class in the death overs as before. The Sunrisers will hope that these three continue their good form.

On the other hand, Hardik Pandya’s MI also started off their season with a loss against Gujarat Titans (GT) by a margin of six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Mumbai Indians fumbled the chase at the end as they were in a very good position at the end of the 15 overs while chasing the target. They would like to forget this match and focus on the next one and get the winning momentum. Traditionally, Mumbai Indians have been slow starters having lost their opening match every season since IPL 2013.

Speaking about the first game of Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah (4-0-14-3) bowled a steller spell which also helped MI to restrict GT for a below par total. Along with him, Mumbaikar Rohit Sharma played a blistering innings of 43(29) which kept MI in a comfortable position to chase the target. His wicket was the game-changing moment. Mumbai Indians will hope that these two continue their good form and help the team to start the winning momentum.
