Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa directs Cooperative Sugar Mills to release Rs. 13 Crore balance of sugarcane farmers at own level

The Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has directed the cooperative sugar mills of the State to release the balance of Rs. 13 crore due to the sugarcane farmers at their own level. This was disclosed here today in a press communique by a spokesman of the Cooperation Department.The spokesman further said that after the directions of the minister, the amount would be credited into the bank accounts of the sugarcane farmers within 1-2 days.
The cooperative sugar mills are seriously engaged in the endeavour to effect complete payment of the balance amount concerning the crushing season 2018-19 and the State Government would soon release the same.Divulging more, the spokesman said that the online system has been implemented for the supply of sugarcane during forthcoming crushing season as per the directions of the minister. The Bhogpur Cooperative Sugar Mill has initiated the crushing season while the rest of the mills are also likely to commence crushing season this week.
The cooperation minister besides directing the sugarcane farmers to supply sugarcane in maximum quantity to the cooperative sugar mills during the crushing season 2019-20 also directed that the payments related to the crushing season 2019-20 be made on the spot and furthermore, all the necessary facilities to the sugarcane farmers be provided in the caneyard.
