Summer sports camp for children in Trichy

Trichy : Trichy district administration has planned a summer sports camp for children from Apr 29 to May 1 at Anna stadium .

District collector M Pradeepkumar in a statement on Saturday, said that the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) will be organizing the camp for students below 18 years of age.

The camp is aimed at encouraging the students interested in sports. The camp will provide basic training in athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, martial art wushu, said the collector. Coaches will be roped in to provide the training.

In order to avoid the scorching sun, classes will be held from 6.30am to 8.30am and 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Participants will be given nutritious food. On completion of the camp, the students will be issued certificates.

Interested candidates can register their names from Apr 27 by paying 200 at the district sports and youth welfare office at Anna stadium. The office can also be contacted at 0431-2420685.
