Supplementary sheets fall short at exam centre

AHMEDABAD: In an unusual incident, as many as 100 students appearing for class 12th examination in the general stream could not complete the test owing to lack of supplementary answer sheets.


The incident took place at an examination centre at Chandramauli school in Vejalpur where over 300 students appeared for the examination.

Parents protested at the the centre.

The students had appeared for economics paper, after two hours, there was shortage of extra answer sheets in three classrooms, leading to panic.

Police had to be called in to control the situation after the parents protested and submitted a written complaint to the school principal. Parents alleged that students could not attempt questions worth 20-25 marks..

Pinkle Shah, parent of a standard 12th student who appeared for the examination here said, “ About 70 parents have given a written submission to the principal complaining about the incident. This is injustice to our children.”

RR Vyas, district education officer , Ahmedabad (rural) said, “We had provided 600 supplementary answer sheets at the centre. After the centre ran out of extra sheets, we got them from other nearby centres.”
