Tatibandh square to get a flyover

RAIPUR: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has issued a tender to an Ahmedabad-based construction company for developing flyover at Tatiband highway. In wake of number of accidents reported at Tatibandh square, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had requested Union minister Nitin Gadkari for the same last month.




Raipur West MLA Vikas Updhyay appreciated Baghel's efforts for raising the matter with the centre. Upadhyay said that the estimated budget for constructing the flyover is worth Rs 119 crores and the construction will start next month.

The legislator has raised the issue of road accidents at Tatibandh square from time to time and blamed its layout plan for the road accidents. The square has witnessed around 109 road accidents and 26 deaths in past three years, said Upadhyay

With Tatibandh being the intersection point of several highways, the flyover is likely benefit 2.5 lakh commuters travelling from Bhilai and Bilaspur.
