TDP to fight false charges against party cadres in courts

Nellore: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said the party will approach the courts to fight cops who are booking false cases against party workers.

He said the party will give moral and financial support to the victims of YSRC attacks. Naidu interacted with senior leaders and workers in the district on Tuesday.

TDP cadres poured out their ordeals to Naidu after YSRC came to power. They alleged that YSRC leaders were torturing them since they backed TDP in the last elections.

Naidu asked the cadre not to get disheartened by the false cases. “We will not leave anyone who is implicating TDP cadre in false cases to appease ruling party leaders. We will fight such cases legally,” he said.

Naidu also said the party would file cases against police officials who had booked false charges against party leaders and cadres.Police have booked cases against former minister Somireddi Chandramohan Reddy to intimidate workers to stay away from the party, he said.

Naidu said no leader would have remained with TDP had they resorted to similar practice when they were at the helm. He said that officials should keep in mind that they would continue in service for 30-40 years irrespective of the party which forms the government.

Naidu alleged that YSRC leaders were looting natural resources, including sand and gravel. He said sand was not available for common man due to encroachment of sand reaches by YSRC leaders.

“The YSRC government is packed with criminals. They are looting public money and resorting to attacks on opposition cadres,” Naidu said.

He said the government had stalled development only out of jealous against the TDP government’s performance. He said stoppage of development works was not only hitting the economy but resulted in massive unemployment. He said more than 60 lakh people were struggling without work for the past four months due to the failure of the government to ensure free flow of sand supply. Former minister Somireddi Chandramohan Reddy and other senior leaders were present during the occasion.
