Telangana: Mom stabs two kids, tries to kill self
JANGAON: A housewife stabbed her two children to death and attempted suicide at Shivabhukya Thanda of Narmetta mandal in Jangaon district on Monday. According to Warangal (West) DCP, B Srinivas Reddy, the accused, Banothu Rama Devi, is the second wife of Banothu Gopal, a farmer.
On Monday morning, Gopal went out of the house for some work.
The incident came to light at 5pm when Rama Devi’s father went to her house. “Rama Devi lost a lot of blood. We have shifted her to MGM Hospital in Warangal,” the DCP said.
Police said that Rama Devi had been unwell since she underwent hysterectomy few years ago. “She was suffering from kidney ailments and her husband insisted that the cost of the medical treatment should be borne by her parents. So, she was upset,” the DCP said.
“We have shifted the kids’ bodies to Jangaon area hospital for post-mortem and registered a case,” Narmetta Circle inspector Gopal said.
