Ticlo opposes shifting WRD office out of Mapusa

Saligao: BJP Aldona MLA Glenn Ticlo on Wednesday said the shifting of the WRD office from Mapusa to Karaswada would greatly inconvenience citizens as they would have to travel a greater distance to get their work done.

The office is presently located near the KTC bus terminus at Mapusa and has been a convenient location for consumers, specially farmers, to get their wells registered and complete several other formalities.

According to an order by the chief engineer of the WRD, the department’s office is required to operate from its new premises at the Cada building in the TIP complex in Karaswada with effect from Friday.

“I have lodged a strong protest with WRD minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues about the same and have requested him not to shift the office,” Ticlo said.
