Tiger kills bullock, video goes viral

Chandrapur: A tiger killed a bullock in the nullah close to the Urja Nagar residential colony of Chandrapur super thermal power station (CSTPS) on Wednesday morning.

A video and pictures of the tiger making the kill have gone viral, triggering a fresh wave of fear among residents of the area which is close to the city.

In the video, the tiger is seen killing a bullock deep in the nullah. With its canine, the beast then drags out the large animal. Sources claimed that the kill was made during the early hours in CSTPS (Urja Nagar) on Wednesday and captured by locals on the road.

The CSTPS is surrounded by dense vegetation. The area, spread over 1100 hectares, has been in the news since more than a year after a streak of tigers made it their home.

There used to be four sub-adult tigers that grew up and spread out in the CSTPS locality a few months back. A tigress, her three cubs and a tiger were also seen on the power plant premises.

Sources claimed that the three cubs of the tigress have now grown up and are trying to hunt on their own. Although the identity of the tiger seen in the video could not be confirmed, sources claimed that it could be an adult male living in the area.
