Traffic constables assaulted in road rage

Ahmedabad: A traffic police constable and a TRB (traffic brigade) jawan were assaulted by a 28-year-old man —a resident of Vasna — when they tried to intervene in a road rage incident at Shyamal crossroads on Monday. According to the FIR filed with the Anandnagar police on a complaint filed by the traffic constable, Vivek Shukla, he along with a TRB jawan, Arbaaz Shaikh, were attacked by Sajan Shah, a resident of Bhavana apartments.

Shukla and Shaikh were managing traffic at Shyamal crossroads when two car drivers began fighting after a collision. When Shukla told them to move their cars as they were disrupting traffic movement, Shah began abusing him. When Shukla objected, Shah pushed him down and began kicking him on his chest and stomach. Shaikh rushed to save Shukla. Shah then began hitting Shaikh. Public rescued the two from Shah who was later brought to the Anandnagar police station where a case of attack was filed against him. tnn
