Traffic restrictions for Rahul Gandhi rally

RANCHI: Ranchi police on Friday issued a traffic management plan keeping in view the rush of vehicles expected for Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled rally at Morhabadi ground on Saturday. Police have designated three parking spots for vehicles coming to the capital from the districts.


Rahul is set to address ‘Parivartan ulgulan rally’ here and kick-start his party’s campaign in Jharkhand for the upcoming Lok Sabha poll.

He will reach Birsa Munda International Airport by a special flight at around 12:45pm on Saturday and will then take a car to reach the rally venue.

Vehicles coming from Godda, Sahebganj, Pakur, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Giridih, Bokaro, Koderma, Hazaribag and Ramgarh will enter the city through Booty more and shall be parked at Pahari ground near Sai hospital on Bariatu road. Cars entering the city from Tatisilwai will take Khelgaon road and will be diverted towards Booty more, and these vehicles, too, will be parked at Pahari ground on Bariatu road.

Those coming from Chaibassa, Khunti, Gumla, Lohardaga, Palamu, Chatra and Garhwa districts will have to take the ring road and Kanke road, and will have to park their vehicles at Ramdayal Munda football stadium ground near Ranchi University.

Other small vehicles going towards rally venue will be diverted towards Tribal Research Institute and will be made to park at the ground opposite to TRI in Morhabadi.

A letter issued by Ranchi traffic SP detailed the plan. Several diversions will be effected to ease congestion during the rally.
