Tripura government to construct 2,200 flats at Agartala

GUWAHATI: BJP led government in Tripura will construct 2200 flats at Agartala and an International Shopping Mall to encourage international business in the state.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb addressed the programme “ANGIKAAR” – 'A campaign for change management' at Agartala Town Hall where he discussed about various issues.


Angikaar is a 3 month campaign where 8 schemes have been amalgamated --Waste management, usage of solar energy, water management, Tree plantation, LPG usage, Ujjwala Yojana, usage of LED lights. Which will be practised through local urban bodies.

Deb said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined to provide pakka housing to everyone by 2022.

He also said, "through Tripura Urban Planning and Development authority, our state government has planned to build 1000 flats in three places in the city. The places are Don Bosco, Dhaleswar, Colonel Chowmuhani and 1200 flats will be constructed at Old central Jail. He also announced that now in Tripura the building can be constructed up to 5th floors."

Chief minister said that the state government planned to build two new hospitals, one Eye Speciality Hospital and a child care hospital.

Deb said that after the introduction of GST and digitalisation system, the revenue collection has been increased, which was before 9.8% now it has come up to 26%. "On one hand, as revenue collection has been increased, on the other hand, 30, 000 water connections have been given to the people of the state through Atal Jal Dhara Mission".
