Truck crushes teenager to death in Wadi, Nagpur
Nagpur: Nagpur: In a ghastly incident, a young woman was crushed to death by a rashly driven truck on Nagpur-Amravati Road in Wadi area on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Pooja Omprakash Tiwari (26), resident of Krushnanand Society, Navneet Nagar, Wadi.
According to police, Pooja was going on her Honda Activa moped (MH-31/BB 1330) on Nagpur-Amravati Road on Tuesday morning. As she reached opposite Ashok Motors Class, a speeding 12-wheeler truck (MH-12/MV 4600), coming from behind, rammed Pooja’s Activa with forceful impact. As a result, Pooja fell on road and came directly under the rear wheels of the truck. She died on the spot.
On being informed, a team of Wadi police rushed to the spot and started investigation. Body of Pooja was sent to Mayo Hospital for autopsy.
Wadi police constable Rajendra Borade, based on a complaint of Hemant Anandrao Bhagat of Dattawadi, booked the truck driver Shivlal Ramdas Shinde (30), native of Takalkhed, Tehsil Chikhli, District Buldana, under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and arrested him. Cops have seized the killer truck and probing the matter further.
