Ujjain: Man, nephew drown in Kshipra river

INDORE: A man and his nephew drowned in Kshipra river in Ujjain on Thursday after they ventured into deep waters while taking a holy dip.


According to the Mahakal police, Digvijay Singh, 25, and his nephew Kuldeep Thakur, 20, drowned when they entered deep waters in the river at Akhada Ghat.

Onlookers rushed to the spot and with the help of divers pulled them out of water.

Digvijay had died on the spot, while Kuldeep was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He died during treatment.

Relatives of the deceased said the duo stayed in Bhopal and were preparing for the public service commission examinations. Digvijay was married six months ago.
