UP: Encounter of police and criminals in Baghpat, one taken into custody

Baghpat: An encounter between police and rioters started on the Kakkarpur canal of Ramala police station area in Baghpat, UP. During the encounter, a vicious criminal was shot in the leg. However, one of his companions escaped from the spot. During the firing, bullet-proof jacket and jeep of SO Ramala were also shot.

The injured criminal is the dreaded shooter of the infamous Sunil Rathi gang. The accused was also involved in the Deshpal murder case on 7 July.

According to the information received, Ramala police was investigating in the area. Meanwhile, Mukher has informed that two vicious criminals have escaped to Kandhla on a bike via the Kakkarpur canal from Barot. The police got information that the accused are in the process of carrying out a major crime. After getting the information, Barot Kotwali in-charge Ajay Kumar Sharma and Chhaprauli police station also reached the spot. The police started checking on the Kakkarpur canal. During the checking, two young men were seen coming on the bike to the police. When the youth was prompted to stop, they started firing on the police.

The police, while firing back, caught them both in the forest. During the encounter, one of the accused got injured due to bullet injury in the leg but escaped as soon as he got a second chance. The injured criminal is a resident of village Sonta in Babri area of Police Station of Muzaffarnagar. Whereas, the absconding crook has been identified as Badal, who is a resident of Barot.

In the midst of the encounter, the police seized 9 MM pistols, 2 cartridges, 2 kiosks and a bike without number. The injured Ajay is lodged in Tihar Jail and on 7 July Deshpal was involved in the murder case. The assassination was completed at the behest of Sunil. Police is investigating criminal history of criminal Ajay. While disclosing this, the criminal had said that Deshpal was killed at the behest of Sunil.
