UP: Firm dupes 200 people of 10crore
LUCKNOW: Two men duped around 200 people by luring them with investment schemes and fled with Rs 10 crore.
Police said that two accused, Ankit Singh and Amrendra Singh, both of Machhrehta block in Sitapur , started a company Unnati Solutions and asked people to deposit Rs 25,000 each saying that their money will be doubled in one year and an equal amount will be added as bonus.
In another scheme, they promised plots on depositing Rs 1.5 lakh each.
"Since last week, 200 persons have told that they deposited Rs 25,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh in two schemes but got no returns. Ankit and Amrendra have switched off their phones," said investigation officer Dharam Raj Upadhyay.
"A case of criminal breach of trust and cheating and dishonesty has been registered against Ankit and Amrendra on the basis of complaint. The two are absconding," Upadhyay told TOI.
"Since last week, 200 persons have told that they deposited Rs 25,000 and Rs 1.5 lakh in two schemes but got no returns. Ankit and Amrendra have switched off their phones," said investigation officer Dharam Raj Upadhyay.
