Uttar Pradesh: Two minors among three held for killing 20-year-old youth

BAREILLY: Shahjahanpur police has arrested three persons, including two minors aged 16 and 17 years, for killing a 20-year-old youth whose body was found on October 10.

According to police, after Arun Singh’s body was found in the fairground, they registered an FIR against unidentified persons. During the investigation, they came to know about the role of Raj Kumar and the teenagers in the crime.

“Raj Kumar told police that when he, along with his two friends, was returning from the fairground after watching Ramleela on October 9, three-four inebriated youths were abusing each other. After one of the youths touched a teenager, the latter asked him to be careful. Raj Kumar alleged that the youths got angry and attacked them. As both groups attacked each other, the teenagers started pelting stones at the youths. Raj Kumar claimed that after Arun attacked him, he stabbed him with a knife,” said a police officer.

Confirming the development, Shahjahanpur senior superintendent of police S Channapa said, “Three accused have been arrested.”
