Uttar Pradesh: Woman kills two-year-old nephew, hides body in her home for three days

AGRA: A woman, upset over her two-and-half-year-old nephew’s birthday celebration just seven days after her teenage daughter’s death, murdered the boy and kept his body hidden in her home for three days, before dumping it behind her home in a farm field.

The mother of four, including her deceased daughter, the accused was identified as Nitu Devi, resident of Bada Lalpur village of Rasoolpur police jurisdiction, Firozabad district .

The victim was identified as Laukik. On Thursday morning police recovered his body from behind his aunt’s house. He was missing since Monday evening.

Speaking to TOI, Indu Prabha Singh, circle officer of Firozabad city, said, “Laukik was smothered to death on Monday evening after Nitu found him alone outside his home. She took him inside her house and killed him. She hid his body for three days in her house covered with a heavy stone and later dumped his body in the backside of her house through the window, which was later spotted by local kids who went out to play on Thursday morning.”

“During interrogation, Nitu said that after her 11-year-old daughter’s death on September 3, Laukik’s parents organised his birthday party on September 10. When she confronted the family and asked them to show respect towards her deceased daughter and requested not to celebrate any occasion for at least a month, Laukik’s mother Shashi taunted her saying that two of her daughters and a son were still alive. This angered Nitu and she decided to teach Shashi a lesson of pain after losing a child,” said Indu Prabha Singh, CO.

Nitu’s involvement was caught after police pressurised her husband to reveal the truth which he even wasn’t aware of.

On Friday, Nitu was arrested and booked under IPC section 302 ( murder ) and 363 (kidnapping).
