Uttarakhand: Helicopter carrying flood-relief material crashes in Uttarkashi

In a distressing piece of news, a helicopter crashed in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand on Wednesday, while it was on its way to Moldi from Mori.

The aircraft was carrying relief material for flood-affected areas and had three people on-board.

Reports claimed the aircraft crashed after hitting a power cable.

Cloudbursts and blocked highways have left people stranded in various parts of the state. The Tons river in Uttarkashi district has been flowing above the danger level.

Several villages were submerged in water in Uttarkashi and hectares of agricultural land was washed away.
