Uttarakhand to celebrate state foundation week from Nov 3

DEHRADUN: The state government is going to hold week-long celebrations from November 3 to mark the 19th State Foundation Day which is observed every year on November 9.


The ‘Foundation Week’ celebrations will begin with the second edition of the ‘Raibaar’ programme, first organised in November 2017 in Dehradun, which will be held at Tehri this year in order to reconnect with people who migrated from Uttarakhand .



“The aim behind organising the ‘State Foundation Week’ is to discuss and sketch the future roadmap of progress of Uttarakhand,” said chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat .

‘Raibaar’ will be followed by a special programme for ex-servicemen ‘Mera Sainik, Mera Abhimaan’ in Dehradun on November 4 to highlight the contribution of Army personnel in the development of Uttarakhand.

As a tribute to the contribution of women in the Uttarakhand statehood movement, the government is going to organise ‘Mahila Shakti Sammelan’ on November 6 at Srinagar in Pauri Garhwal district .

An event dedicated to the youth of Uttarakhand will be held on November 7 at Almora, followed by a ‘film conclave’ at Mussoorie on November 8 which is likely to be attended by Bollywood personalities. The week-long celebrations will end with a programme ‘Bharat Bharati’ to promote nationalism among youngsters on November 9 in Dehradun.
