Village revenue officer in ACB net for taking Rs 4,000 bribe

Hyderabad: A village revenue officer (VRO) of Kojjavanampally in Nawabpet mandal of Vikarabad district was caught red-handed by ACB sleuths on Tuesday when he demanded and accepted Rs 4,000 bribe from a farmer. T Ramulu, VRO of Kojjavanampally, was trapped when he accepted the tainted money from farmer B Sai Kumar, 36.

Ramulu took the bribe to process the online entry of 3.29 acres of farmland in the name of Kumar’s father. A video of Ramulu demanding the bribe at a saloon has already gone viral on social media. ACB officials said Ramulu demanded Rs 5,000 bribe and later settled for Rs 4,000.tnn
