West Bengal governor unhappy as state officials refuse to meet him

KOLKATA: West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar is unhappy with the manner he was treated by officials at North and South 24 Parganas while he was touring Sunderbans on Tuesday. He conveyed his displeasure with the state government to the mediapersons.

Earlier he had voiced his displeasure on Durga Puja Carnival hosted by Bengal government as he was blacked out from the live telecast.

On Tuesday, he had urged the DMs and SPs along with MPs to be present for a meeting. But the DMs communicated that without the consent of the state government they could not afford to attend the meeting. This peeved the governor and he said that he was not under the state government, but the head of the state. He said that the treatment meted out to him should be an eye opener.

Earlier in Siliguri too, the state officials had refused to meet him. It might be recalled that BJP has no MP from North and South 24 Parganas.
