Who Is Tom Birchy, TikToker Arrested For Punching Bamboo Fence In Thailand?

TikToker Tom Birchy has claimed in a recent video that he was arrested in Thailand for kicking a bamboo fence. He said that he was slapped with a suspended sentence of two months in prison.

In the video, Birchy shared his ordeal of ending up punching a bamboo fence during his adventures in Thailand, leading to a mischief charge by the local law enforcement.

He admitted to the offense and on May 2, he was handed a two-month suspended prison sentence. The suspended sentence implies that he won’t have to spend time behind bars.

Birchy is known for candidly discussing his encounters with recreational drug usage and the health emergency he faced at 22, attributing it to his lifestyle choices at the time. Following his health scare, he embarked on a transformative journey, relocating to Thailand for a new beginning.

He has documented his process of quitting cannabis on his YouTube channel and regularly imparts motivational guidance on how to enhance one's life. Originally from Singapore, he currently resides in Thailand.

“Pretty wild. I went to the Thai court and I already plead guilty so it was a pretty quick thing. Just to save time and energy because there was a video of me punching through this bamboo fence,” he said in the video.

“I got a small fine and a two-month prison sentence. I did do a stupid thing, I punched through a bamboo fence and that’s a crime pretty much anywhere in the world."
