Winter games association files petition in HC

NAINITAL: The Winter Games Association of Uttarakhand (WGAUK) has approached the Uttarakhand high court alleging that the state government and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) have excluded them from the organising team of the proposed winter games in Auli from February 26.

The petition was filed on Friday and the matter will come up for hearing on Monday.

“The association has been organising the games for over two decades and this year the responsibility was arbitrarily given to the state Olympic association of Uttarakhand, which has no prior experience in organising the winter games,” alleged the petition.
