Woman constable ends life in Kanpur

KANPUR: A woman constable committed suicide in Kishoreganj locality near Bidhoona police station in Auraiya .

The deceased constable identified as Shalu (28), daughter of Rajendra Giri , was native to Lateef Nagar area of Baghpat district.

As per police, after selection in state police, the got posted at Bidhoona police station of Auraiya in December last year.

"Shalu married a teacher named Rahul Firozabad in April this year during lockdown and lived in a rented house in Kishoreganj area of Auraiya," informed Auraiya ASP Kamlesh Dikshit.

On Tuesday morning, police went to her house to check on Shalu after her sister who lives in Lucknow failed to get any response from her despite repeated calls. After repeated knocks went unanswered, police broke in and found her hanging from the ceiling.

Police said a suicide not was recovered from the spot which read "I have got fed up of my life and do not want to live any more. No one should be held responsible for this."

"Postmortem of the deceased would be conducted only after arrival of her family members, added police.
