Woman kills children and ends life; shocked husband too attempts suicide

VIJAYAWADA: In a spiteful act against her husband, a woman killed her two children and then herself at Gokanakonda village under Vinukonda mandal in Guntur district on Friday. Later, the husband who was shocked to see his entire family dead too attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at his residence within hours after their deaths.

The deceased were identified as Narayanamma (25) her son Koteswara Rao (8) and daughter Venkata Lakshmi (3). According to Vinukonda rural police, the incident happened in the morning after months of fighting with her husband Vallem Yedukondalu (30) over his alcohol addiction. Narayanamma took both her kids and threw them into a deep well near her house. She then jumped into it herself, however, she did not fall deep as she fell onto a slab right below. She then climbed out of the well and hung herself in her room at her residence.

After locals found the dead bodies, they immediately informed the cops who reached the spot. Upon learning the incident, Yedukondalu too attempted suicide by consuming pesticide at his home. Soon, locals rushed him to a nearby hospital where his condition is said to be critical. Cops registered a case in this regard at Vinukonda Rural Police Station.
