Writer Sumrit Shahi: Lockdown has taught us that good health is very important

Writer Sumrit Shahi feels it is time we should have gratitude in our hearts. He said, "While we are sitting at home and getting a chance to create some new memories with our loved ones, there is a huge population outside walking their way back home. We are crying over the things we are not getting during this lockdown, while they are just walking to reach home.

This lockdown has taught us about our privileges and how we should feel lucky to have what we have."

Sumrit has written shows like ' Sadda Haq - My life, my choice', ' Boyz ' and ' Pyar Tune Kya Kia ', among others. Talking about "shot-at-videos" as the new normal in the industry, he feels they are exciting but at the same time challenging too.

He also added that he never acknowledged his privileges before but looking at the hardships people are facing during this lockdown, he feels fortunate. "I have realised how fortunate I am that I don’t have to go through so many hardships that other people have to, and it’s very important to acknowledge that. The lockdown has made us realise that chasing money, fame and material goods is futile, if you don’t have good health, so one must know their priorities," he said.

Sumrit, who belongs to Chandigarh, had left for his hometown a week before the lockdown was announced and said the situation is better in his city. "Though Chandigarh is in the red zone, the situation is still better as compared to Mumbai because the population is less," Sumrit signs off.
