Youth murdered by brother-in-law

Udhagamandalam: A tribal youth was murdered by his sister’s husband over a family dispute at Semmanarai village in Kotagiri taluk. R Prakash, 18 and his sister’s husband P Rangan, 22 returned home drunk late on Monday night. “They picked up a quarrel which ended in Rangan attacking Prakash with a sickle. Prakash died on the spot,” a police officer said.

Rangan, who went absconding, was later secured on early Tuesday morning. After an inquiry, Rangan was remanded in judicial custody. The victim’s body was handed over to the family after postmortem . This is the third murder case reported in Kotagiri taluk in the past one week. tnn
