Youth Swept Away While Crossing a Bridge in MP's Khargone

A youth in Jhiriniya village of Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh was swept away while attempting to cross a bridge.

The incident was caught on camera.

The video shows several people standing on either side of a small bridge constructed over the Ruparel river. Due to incessant rain in the area, the river’s water level had risen and led to the water flowing over the bridge. The youth was trying to cross the bridge even as other locals urged him not to. He was eventually swept away due to the current of river.

The incident took place on Friday, 9 August, and the youth has been missing since.
