Commentary
  • That is it from this game! The second Test between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will begin on March 10, 2021. Do join us for that at 0930 local (0530 GMT). Till then, take care and cheers!
  • Sean Williams, Zimbabwe skipper, is named the Man of the Match. He says it was a brilliant team performance and the seam bowlers were brilliant. Mentions the senior players came to the party and the young guys will learn. States Raza took the role of being aggressive when they were in trouble and they are looking for big partnerships.
  • Asghar Afghan, Afghanistan skipper, says he congratulates Zimbabwe. He feels they won a good toss but Zimbabwe bowled well and they did not bat that well. States their bowlers like Hamza bowled well but the total was low and Williams played really well. Adds they did not prepare well for the first Test and now they have 6 days so they will try and do well.
  • A lot was expected from the Afghanistan batters in their second innings but they surrendered. Once again they were 6 down in no time. At one stage, it seemed like an innings defeat was on the cards but Zadran's 70-plus score got them into a lead. A slender one before they were bowled out. Just the 16 and in the end, it was chased without the loss of any wicket.
  • Afghanistan did fightback as they got early wickets and Zimbabwe were in trouble at 38 for 4. But their skipper, Sean Williams, rose to the occasion and smashed a brilliant ton to give his side a 100-plus lead.
  • A thumping win in the end for Zimbabwe! They have beaten Afghanistan in two days! Wow! Just wow! Right from Day 1, they were up for it. They lost the toss but their pacers made brilliant use of the wicket, they bundled out Afghanistan for just 131 runs. Muzarabani and Victor were the stars.
