Victorious Bangladesh captain, Mashrafe Mortaza has been named the MAN OF THE MATCH. Feels that Windies are dangerous in this format and hence, is happy with his bowlers for keeping them quiet and not allowing the opposition to forge a partnership. On the ploy to open with spin, Mortaza says that he just wanted to spring a surprise, given the way the Windies collapsed against spin in the Tests. Praises Rahim, Liton and Shakib for playing well and being professional. On his upcoming 200th match in the third ODI in Sylhet, Mashrafe deflects the question away, saying that he has got other challenges in mind, stating that the second ODI is to be played first.

Windies skipper, Rovman Powell, admits that the toss was a big factor. Agrees that the batting was not great which brought about their downfall and hopes that there is a better performance in the next game. Scrutinizes that batsmen getting in did not make use of their starts. Perhaps Rovman Powell could have set attacking fields. Maybe, he might have got a couple of more wickets. 196 was never a massive target but the Windies could have made the victory a bit difficult. They dismissed Tamim and Kayes in the span of 5 balls but the Rahim-Das partnership pegged them back. And then, Shakib's cameo sealed the deal.
