Ben Stokes to KL Rahul, 1 run.
  • Pant is clearly uncomfortable against those short deliveries and has called the physio again. The ice-pack is out, and Pant himself applies it to the bruised area as the physio applies some extra protection on his left index finger.

Brydon Carse to Rishabh Pant, Oh, that could have gone anywhere! Dug in short by Brydon Carse, around middle and leg. Due to the slowness of the surface, Rishabh Pant is early on the pull as he swivels to get the shot away. Gets it off the toe end of the bat and the ball spoons towards mid-wicket where Ben Stokes is standing a few yards in off the ropes but does not pick it. The ball lands wide of him to his left for a single.

Ben Stokes to Rishabh Pant, SIX! That goes all the way and with this hit, Rishabh Pant brings up his FIFTY. 17th Test half-century for him, and sixth versus England. His fourth fifty-plus score in this series, and on two occasions, he has converted them into triple figures as well. The purple patch in the series continues for Rishabh and he will be hungry for more. Banged in short again by Stokes, Pant makes use of the angle and gets inside the line. Pulls it flat but gets enough elevation to clear deep fine leg for a six.

Ben Stokes to Rishabh Pant, Stokes lands it on a short of a good length, angled into the left-hander, Pant looks to get inside the line and help the ball on its way but the ball zips over the blade.
  • Another delay in the proceedings as Pant has copped another blow on his left hand. The same hand where he took a stinging blow on his left index finger while keeping. He straightaway removes his gloves and is grimacing in pain. The physio rushes out to the middle to tend to him. The magic spray is applied on the bruised area and Pant looks fine to continue for now.

Ben Stokes to Rishabh Pant, Ouch, that has hurt! Stokes goes wide on the crease and bangs it into the wicket, on middle and leg. Rishabh Pant does not get his hands through the ball in a fashion he would have liked. He is hurried into the shot and cops a blow on the left glove. The ball rolls wide of square leg. Not sure if that has hit Rishabh on the already injured index finger.
